2 3 team

During the SME2GO Västerås training session with Synerleap powered by ABB, Mälardalen and others, we took the opportunity getting to know our SMEs a little bit better. Here’s the Swedish space tech company Sally R, the virtual queu solution GoSwift, and the big Estonian logitstics company Logistika Pluss OÜ on reasons for joining the trainings, keytakeaways and how they want to partner up.

Next up is Helsinki, May 11-12

Sally R, Sweden
Viktor Kjellberg, CEO

Sally R is a Swedish incubator based company from Create using space technology to save energy in buildings and guarantee a healthy indoor air climate. This is achieved by combining ventilation solution used here on earth with technology used for climate control in space on the International Space Station.

Sally R is also powered by the European Space Agency (ESA) and a part of the ESA Business Incubation Centre Sweden.

Why join the Västerås training:

– Networking.

Key takeaways:

– The importance of partnership.

Market interest outside of EU:

– China.

Looking for: Partners for a pilot project in Sweden. Read more at www.energibesparing.sally-r.com (in Swedish) or about the company at www.sally-r.com.

GoSwift, Estonia
Madis Sassiad, Sales Director

GoSwift removes physical queues by replacing them with virtual ones. GoSwift has been operating a virtual queuing and online booking system for borders, ports and tourist attractions since 2011. GoSwift operates in 4 countries  – Finland, Russia, Lithuania and Estonia, at 9 border crossing points, using a Public Private Partnership (PPP) model.

GoSwift designs, deploys and operates Queue Management Services. GoSwift handles electronically/virtually queues of vehicles and people at traffic bottlenecks – border checkpoints, ports and tourist attractions.

Why join the Västerås training:

 – There were more than one reason I attended to this training in SME2GO Västerås. As GoSwift is actively searching new projects in Africa and elsewhere all over the world, we are interested of any possibility to get some support in marketing and sales activities, as for a small company like GoSwift is at the moment, it is sometimes quite tricky to find enough finances to go through all the pre-sales process, which takes at minimum 2-3 years, says Madis Sassiad, Sales Director at GoSwift told us and contiued:

– It was really interesting to learn from Chinese market and culture, which might be also useful to understand the business culture of other Asian countries, and especially the day in SynerLeap was very fascinating and productive in every way, which was also one of my expectations.”

Key takeaways:

– I was really surprised that Chinese market shouldn’t be so threatful like it looks like from far away and the training gave me thought to revise our company’s strategy concerning China, as we are really afraid of counterfeiting of our products if we start introducing us to Chinese representatives.

Market interest outside of EU:

– At the moment we are targeting most to African countries, like Mozambique, Kenya, Zambia, Nigeria, South-Africa, Namibia and Benin.

Looking for:

– Partner(s) to make some cooperation outside of EU and to share some costs for local marketing and sales, as like it was learnt in the training, to sell something at local level, you need to look like local. So there is a need to hire local people and try to look like very trustful, but it is quite expensive.

Logistika Pluss, Estonia
Evelin Viital, Sales Manager

Logistika Pluss OÜ is one of the largest logistics service providers in Estonia. They offer logistic solutions and value adding production services for international industrial electronics groups, as well as manufacturers and importers of food products and convenience goods.

Why join the Västerås training:

– As in last years we have started to look more into opportunities to export our services outside of Estonia and due to that we are trying to learn to know different markets. Smart City export training was one of those oportunities to meet different experts and learn to understand other markets.

Key takeaways:

– Key take aways was for me, that we have big chance to have future cooperation possibilities with China, due to the good geographical location. It was good to know that we should not forget also Africa as one of the business opportunities.

– Also as Logistika Pluss was rewarded in beginning of 2015 with  “Environmental Award for Business 2014” from Estonian Minister of the environment, then to see how other companies are working hard to make our environment better in this world, gives also to us knowing that we contribute to the right thing and that we are not alone in this world and that we all can do something for our environment starting from the small things, says Evelin Viital, Sales Manager at Logistika Pluss and concludes:
– It was an honor to have the possibility to see Västerås Science Park, I got many ideas thanks to this visit on how to make our company meetings more efficient and how important it is to involve also students in future developments.

Market interest outside of EU:

– Today we can see that our neighbor countries are the first we can cooperate with, we today already have started some business with them,  but we are interested of cooperation possibilities with China due to our good geographical location.

Looking for:

– We organize many group visit to our logistics centers from different countries every year (there are students, small and big size companies, different associations etc.) so if there are companies interested in the logistic service possibilities in Estonia we’re happy to introduce our business and to show what and how we operate today.
